Marking a significant milestone in the cooperative sector, Union Minister of State for Cooperation Murlidhar Mohol inaugurated the 100th branch of leading multi-state credit cooperative, Godavari Urban Multi-State Credit Co-operative Society, in Ahmedabad.
Established in 2013 under the leadership of Hemant Patil, the institution has witnessed remarkable growth under the guidance of its current Chairperson, Rajshree Patil.
From a modest beginning, the society now operates across six states, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, Gujarat, and Goa, serving over 435,000 members through 99 existing branches. The inauguration of the 100th branch symbolizes the institution’s expanding footprint and the growing trust it enjoys among members.
The society’s total business has surpassed Rs 5,320 crore, reflecting its strong financial foundation and commitment to transparent and people-centric services.
The expansion highlights the vital role urban cooperative institutions play in promoting local development, supporting entrepreneurship, generating employment, and strengthening financial inclusion. The milestone further reinforces the spirit of “Sahkar Se Samriddhi” driving India’s cooperative movement forward.
