Union Home Minister Amit Shah stated that the creation of the Ministry of Cooperation has revitalized India’s cooperative sector. Addressing the Kopargaon event, he said that past uncertainties surrounding cooperatives have been resolved and that the sector is now emerging as a key pillar of the national economy.
Shah emphasized that cooperatives are central to implementing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of rural self-reliance, fostering innovation, employment, and local capital retention.
Highlighting initiatives like the cooperative CBG plant, fisheries, PACS integration, and rural call centers, he underscored that cooperatives now serve as vehicles for sustainable development. Shah called on citizens to support indigenous products and cooperatives to strengthen India’s economic growth and social equity.
