Meghalaya: BBSSL, EARMACS to strengthen Seed Network

Bhartiya Beej Sahakari Samiti Limited and Eastern Region Apex Marketing Cooperative Society signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at the Office of the Registrar of Cooperative Societies in Shillong, marking a major step towards strengthening the cooperative movement and promoting quality seed distribution in the North Eastern region.

The agreement was signed in the presence of representatives from BBSSL, EARMACS, the Registrar of Cooperative Societies Office, Meghalaya, and BBSSL member society IVCS Meghalaya.

The collaboration aims to enhance farmers’ access to quality seeds and support sustainable agricultural development through cooperative initiatives.

Officials said the partnership reflects a shared commitment to empowering farmers and boosting agricultural productivity in the region through stronger cooperative networks.

Bhartiya Beej Sahakari Samiti Limited also expressed gratitude to Smt. Pooja Pandey, Secretary, Cooperation Department, Meghalaya Government, for her support and guidance in facilitating the collaboration.
