Kapil Meena, a 2010-batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of the Sikkim cadre, has been empanelled for appointment to the post of Joint Secretary or equivalent at the Centre (initial).
At present, Meena is serving as Director in the Union Ministry of Cooperation, where he has been closely involved in coordination related to the cooperative sector at the national level.
Born on July 10, 1983, Kapil Meena holds a Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture (B.Sc.) from G.B. Pant University of Agriculture & Technology, Pantnagar, Uttarakhand. He is proficient in English and Hindi and is known for his strong academic grounding and administrative experience.
Meena has also served as Deputy Secretary (Cooperation) in the Ministry. In the Government of Sikkim, he has held key positions including Managing Director, Sikkim Milk Union, and Director, Tourism.
He was sent on central deputation in January 2022 and has since become a familiar figure among national-level cooperative stakeholders.
