Major Co-op drive to be launched at Mithila Haat

A historic cooperative initiative will be launched at Mithila Haat in Madhubani on 17th July 2025, marking a major leap in rural empowerment.

Union Minister for Social Justice & Empowerment, Dr. Ramdas Athawale, will join Binod Anand, noted farmer leader and Chairman of the World Cooperation Economic Forum (WCOOPEF), to unveil five transformative multistate cooperatives.

These cooperatives aim to create socially inclusive, farmer-led value chains linking rural India directly with global-local markets.

The event will spotlight key missions including water management for all farms, biofuel maize production to support India’s Net Zero goals, GI-based Mithila Makhana value chains for women’s empowerment, horticulture export corridors to raise rural incomes, and renewable energy systems to make villages self-reliant.

Eminent scientists, grassroots leaders, and policy experts will attend to showcase the integration of tradition and technology. With thousands expected to participate, this initiative reflects the vision of inclusive development and community ownership, reinforcing the national goal of Viksit Bharat @ 2047.
