Maha govt to identify fake co-ops

Maharashtra government will soon conduct a survey to identify cooperative societies that exist ‘only on paper.

The survey will be conducted from July to September and the decision has followed the directives issued by the top cooperative officials of the state, reports Business Standard.

Officers and staff of the department will make spot visits to the societies and check if it is functioning properly or exists only on paper.

Source added the survey will help the authorities cancel the registration of the defunct societies.
