The Maharashtra Government is positively considering the implementation of Electronic Data Processing (EDP) and Information System Audits in cooperative credit societies.
Maharashtra Cooperation Minister Babasaheb Patil stated that the government will take a policy decision on the matter after conducting a comprehensive study of all technical and legal aspects involved.
“The government is examining the proposal in detail and will take an effective decision after assessing its implications and implementation requirements”, he added.
The minister said that EDP and Information System Audits are expected to play an important role in enhancing data security, cyber risk management, and transparency in financial transactions within cooperative credit societies.
The proposed audit framework is aimed at strengthening oversight and ensuring better governance standards in cooperative credit institutions.
