Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Monday distributed Rs 5,086 crore in loan-waiver benefits to 6,36,036 eligible farmers under the second phase of the Punyashlok Ahilyadevi Holkar Farmers Loan Waiver Scheme through a direct online transfer from Sahyadri Guest House.
With this phase, the state has so far provided Rs 10,115 crore in loan-waiver benefits to 12,58,243 farmers. Fadnavis said the disbursement process is continuing and the beneficiary count is being updated regularly. Aadhaar authentication has been completed for 13.70 lakh loan accounts.
The second-phase benefits included Rs 2,284 crore for 3.02 lakh farmers in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar division, Rs 1,208 crore for 1.46 lakh farmers in Amravati, Rs 756 crore for 84,813 farmers in Nashik, Rs 417 crore for 49,224 farmers in Pune, Rs 366 crore for 44,864 farmers in Nagpur and Rs 54 crore for 9,054 farmers in Konkan.
Deputy Chief Ministers Eknath Shinde and Sunetra Ajit Pawar, Cooperation Minister Babasaheb Patil and senior officials were present.
