Led by biggies co-ops celebrate Mahatma’s birth anniversary

Cooperatives across the nation have celebrated the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi led by co-op giants like Amul and IFFCO.

The fertilizer giant IFFCO has celebrated the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi on Wednesday by organizing several programs in its different units located in different parts of the country.

Uttar Pradesh based IFFCO’s Anola Unit organized a painting competition and a rally to ‘say no to plastic’. Kids made several paintings explaining how to make environment neat and clean.

Similarly, at its Paradeep Unit a small girl child urged the nation to take a pledge to keep our surroundings and country neat and clean on the occasion of 150th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. The video of the girl child was later shared by IFFCO MD Dr U S Awasthi on twitter.

Meanwhile, IFFCO has organized an awareness program on “Swacchta hi Sewa Hai” at Sikar, Rajasthan where its marketing director Yogendra Kumar addressed the participants.

In his tweet IFFCO’s MD wrote, “To celebrate #GandhiJayanti and remember the #GandhiAt150 #IFFCO organised various programs in all the states with farmers & children. Free cloth & nonwowen fabric bags were distributed to farmers to discourage the use of plastic. #SwachhataHiSeva @PMOIndia @narendramodi”.

GCMMF celebrated Mahatma’s birthday by dropping a tweet which has now left people amazed. It’s because, in its well-known creative way, the company dished out a message about recyclable plastic.

Though the tweet has a simple caption, “#Amul celebrates Swachh Bharat Diwas, 2nd October 2019,” it’s the accompanying illustration that has captivated tweeple.

Earlier, Indian Cooperative wrote about WWF organizing a seminar on Gandhi’s anniversary in Chennai, in which it was claimed that women empowerment so close to Gandhi’s idea of a strong India, is being followed by WWF.
