Leaders celebrate Co-op Day with gusto across India

International Day of Cooperatives was celebrated with full gusto and enthusiasm by the cooperators across the country. From Rajya Sabha member Suresh Prabhu to Himachal Pradesh Governor Bandaru Dattatreya to Chhattisgarh Vidha Speaker Charan Das Mahant and others registered their participation.

The theme of the year is ‘Cooperatives for Climate Action’.

If Suresh Prabhu called upon cooperatives to join hands with others in combating adverse impact of climate change, Himachal Pradesh Governor presided over the meeting with SHGs and top officials of the Rural Development and Cooperation Department.

On the occasion, Dattatreya said that self-help groups do branding of their products and make India self-reliant, a mantra of PM Narendra Modi. Products made by SHGs should be promoted.

Congratulating the cooperators on the occasion of International Day of Cooperatives, Chhattisgarh Vidhan Sabha speaker said cooperatives have played an important role in the pandemic situation and done the praiseworthy work for the community.

Several cooperative institutions including Raipur District Cooperative Union, Raipur DCCB, Sahakar Bharati chapter of Uttar Pradesh, Consumer Cooperative of Rajasthan and others did the tree plantation and urged everyone to plant more and more trees to save the environment.
