The Cooperative Election Authority has approved the unopposed election of five directors to the board of the Tribal Cooperative Marketing Development Federation of India (TRIFED), strengthening representation from the cooperative and tribal development sectors.
Among those elected are Mohanbhai Kundariya, Director of National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation of India Ltd. (NAFED), and Pankaj Bansal, Managing Director of National Cooperative Development Corporation.
The other directors elected from the general category are Dr. Poma Tudu, Managing Director of the Tribal Development Cooperative Corporation of Odisha; Avijit Deb, Chairman of Tripura State Cooperative Marketing Federation Ltd.; and Sudarshan Jaspa, Chairman of the Lahaul Potato Growers Cooperative Marketing-cum-Processing Society, Himachal Pradesh.
The election reflects TRIFED’s continued emphasis on drawing expertise from leading cooperative institutions and tribal development organizations across the country.
