Sharanagouda G. Patil, Managing Director of Karnataka State Souharda Federal Cooperative Ltd. (KSSFCL), presented a paper on “Best Practices from Indian Cooperatives and their Contribution to Sustainability and Resilience in the SDG Era” at the recently concluded ICA Research Conference held in Colombo, Sri Lanka, alongside the ICA-AP General Assembly.
The conference witnessed global participation with 123 papers submitted, out of which 65 were accepted. Among these, 56 participants presented their research, highlighting innovations and strategies in the cooperative sector worldwide.
Patil’s presentation emphasized the role of Indian cooperatives in promoting sustainability, resilience, and social impact in alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
He also shared key insights from the Souharda Cooperative Act and KSSFCL’s initiatives over the years, reflecting India’s growing cooperative movement.
The paper received appreciation from international delegates, underscoring India’s contribution to cooperative development and sustainable practices globally.
