Krishak Bharati Cooperative Limited (KRIBHCO), India’s second-largest fertilizer cooperative, is promoting scientific and sustainable pest management practices among farmers through its KRIBHCO Krishi Dhara Webinar series.

In a recent webinar session, Dr. Maha Singh Jaglan, Principal Scientist (Entomology) and Regional Director at CCSHAU, Karnal, explained how Integrated Pest Management (IPM) can help farmers control pests more effectively while reducing unnecessary expenditure on pesticides.

Dr. Jaglan cautioned against indiscriminate pesticide application and spraying without first assessing pest levels in crops. Such practices, he noted, can raise input costs and negatively affect farm profitability. IPM, by contrast, encourages farmers to adopt a scientific, need-based approach, enabling them to make informed decisions on pest control.

KRIBHCO said the initiative is aimed at strengthening farmer awareness and encouraging sustainable crop production through expert guidance. The cooperative has invited farmers to watch the complete webinar session and benefit from expert advice on crop protection, scientific farming and sustainable agriculture.
