Krishak Bharati Cooperative Limited (KRIBHCO) honoured two senior cooperators, Shankarbhai Chaudhary of Gujarat and Bhagwan Singh Yadav of Madhya Pradesh, for their long-standing contribution to India’s cooperative movement at its 46th AGM in New Delhi.
Chaudhary, Gujarat Legislative Assembly Speaker and Chairman of Banas Dairy, has played a major role in developing the dairy cooperative sector. Under his leadership, Banas Dairy expanded its farmer-centric activities, with milk collection crossing 1 crore litres a day. Its initiatives include cattle-feed production, honey production, animal healthcare, organic farming, embryo-transfer technology and bio-CNG projects converting cattle waste into clean energy.
Bhagwan Singh Yadav, a veteran cooperative leader and former Madhya Pradesh minister, has devoted decades to strengthening the cooperative movement in the state. His public career has included work associated with farmers, rural communities and cooperative institutions, with his contribution recognised through the KRIBHCO Sahakarita Vibhushan Award.
KRIBHCO conferred the Sahakarita Shiromani Award on Chaudhary and Sahakarita Vibhushan Award on Yadav.
