A six-member Kerala delegation led by Dairy Development, Milk Cooperatives and Animal Husbandry Minister Bindhu Krishna visited Banas Dairy in Palanpur, Gujarat, to study its cooperative dairy model, media reports say.
The team toured the Badarpura facilities and examined milk collection, processing, product diversification and manufacturing systems. Krishna described Banas Dairy as an “excellent and replicable model”, saying Kerala would explore adopting practices suited to its own requirements.
The delegation also studied links between milk producers and organised markets, along with cooperative administration, farmer participation and distribution. The visit was part of Kerala’s efforts to strengthen its dairy infrastructure and milk cooperative system.
