New Indian Express reports the cooperative sector in Kerala run directly or indirectly by political people bristles with graft.
It is said in the last six years as many as 399 cooperative banks and societies have been involved in scams.
Thrissur district tops the list with 66 cooperative institutions being allegedly involved in them.
Kerala Cooperation Minister V N Vasavan made these revelations in reply to a query raised in the state assembly.
