Kerala Co-op Sector engages in Tax Reform Awareness Drive

The Office of the Principal Commissioner of Income Tax, Thiruvananthapuram, conducted a major outreach programme under PRARAMBH2026 on the New Income Tax Act, 2025, with strong participation from cooperative societies, banks and financial stakeholders across Kerala.

Organized at Windsor Palace, Kowdiar, the event focused on enhancing awareness about the new tax regime and strengthening compliance preparedness among cooperative institutions and the banking sector.

The programme was headed by Saren Jose, IRS, Additional Commissioner of Income Tax, Range-1, Thiruvananthapuram. Smt. Julie G. Varghese, Chairperson of Institute of Chartered Accountants of India Thiruvananthapuram, attended as Chief Guest, while Nishant K, IRS, Additional CIT (HQ & TPS), represented the Chief Commissioner of Income Tax, Thiruvananthapuram.

Prince Raj, ACIT, led an interactive awareness session on the New Income Tax Act, 2025, highlighting key compliance changes, transparency measures and regulatory implications for cooperative societies and banking institutions operating in the state.
