Kerala Co-op Bank: Govt confident of getting RBI nod

Intervening in the debate in the Kerala state assembly, Minister for Law A K Balan, on behalf of State Minister for Co-operation Kadakampally Surendran said RBI is likely to give clearance for the Kerala Bank -the left government’s pet project by the end of March, reports PTI.

With the formation of the Kerala Co-operative Bank by merging district co-operative banks with state co-operative banks, affiliation of primary agriculture co-operative societies would be with the new Bank.

 The minister said the merger would definitely strengthen the primary co-operatives.
