Under the loan waiver scheme announced by the govt in Karnataka, farmers’ loans up to Rs 1 lakh from various banks including cooperative banks will be waived off, reports a news outlet.
However, the Karnataka govt will not be able to implement the scheme, as the model code of conduct is effective in the run up to the upcoming parliamentary election.
Polling in Karnataka will take place in April.
