Farmers from several areas of Karnataka have alleged corruption in PACS in implementing the State government’s farm loan waiver scheme, reports Hindu.
A source is quoted saying it a scam running into crores. PACS secretaries draw money on behalf of the farmers but no one knows how much farmers actually get, the source added.
Meanwhile, farmers have decided to hold a protest demanding a thorough inquiry into the irregularities in provision of loan waiver benefits. Following complaints, the bank is said to have issued notices to a few secretaries.
