Mineshbhai Patel has been elected unopposed as the Chairman of Kalupur Commercial Co-operative Bank, Gujarat’s largest urban cooperative bank. His election has also received the necessary approval from the Cooperative Election Authority under the Ministry of Cooperation.
The election for the chairman’s post was necessitated following the resignation of the outgoing Chairman, Ambubhai M. Patel, who stepped down due to health reasons, creating a vacancy at the helm of the bank.
Speaking to Indian Cooperative after his election, Mineshbhai Patel said, “Yes, I have been elected as the Chairman of the bank. Earlier, I had the opportunity to serve as the Vice Chairman. Our objective is to take the bank to newer heights. We will focus on both organic and inorganic growth and further expand the bank’s business. We are targeting annual business growth of over Rs 4,000 crore.”
Patel, a businessman and a Chemical Engineering graduate from BITS Pilani, said strengthening the bank through technology adoption would be one of his key priorities. “We have recently upgraded our core banking software to Infosys Finacle, and we will continue leveraging technology to enhance customer service and operational efficiency,” he said.
It may be recalled that the election of the bank’s Board of Directors was held in January 2025.
Recently, the bank held its Annual General Meeting, where it reported total business of more than Rs 23,000 crore and a net profit of Rs 215.86 crore for the financial year ended March 31, 2026.
