Newly elected NCUI Governing Council member Annasaheb Jolle met Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah at Parliament House on Thursday and invited him to inaugurate the newly constructed head office building of Shri Beereshwar Co-operative Credit Society at Examba in Belagavi district, Karnataka.
Jolle was accompanied by his wife, Shashikala Jolle, MLA from Nipani, during the meeting.
Speaking to Indian Cooperative after the meeting, Jolle said Shah accepted the invitation and assured him that he would attend the inauguration, subject to his schedule.
“I invited the Hon’ble Minister to inaugurate our newly constructed Beereshwar Co-operative Credit Society headquarters. He assured me that he would certainly come and give us a suitable date,” Jolle said.
Jolle, who is also President of the Belagavi District Central Cooperative Bank Ltd., also invited the Union Minister to participate in the bank’s centenary celebrations scheduled to be held later this year. Shah responded positively and assured Jolle that he would make every effort to attend the event.
During the meeting, Shah Jolle shared the bank’s financial performance for FY2025-26, highlighting that total business rose 13.77% to Rs 9,776.03 crore, comprising deposits of Rs 6,703.36 crore and advances of Rs 6,738.19 crore. The bank reported a net profit of Rs 34.70 crore, while agricultural loans increased to Rs 3,767 crore. He also informed that the bank currently serves 4,88,085 agricultural borrower farmers.
Besides cooperative sector issues, the meeting also touched upon political developments in the Nipani Assembly constituency. Jolle briefed the Union Minister on the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise and other party activities in the constituency.
