In a move aimed at strengthening rural livelihoods through cooperative-led initiatives, Jharkhand’s Minister of Agriculture, Animal Husbandry and Cooperation, Shilpi Neha Tirkey, held a detailed meeting with a team of development strategists from Transform Rural India (TRI), along with progressive farmer Pinki Kumari from Jharkhand.
The discussion focused on leveraging community-driven and cooperative models to scale agricultural impact across the state. Emphasis was laid on expanding TRI’s Farmer Academy and Farm Show pilot in Bero block to enhance farmer capacity and knowledge sharing through collective platforms.
Key proposals included positioning Jharkhand as a hub for fruits, vegetables, nuts, and berries by strengthening farmer collectives and cooperative value chains.
A major highlight was advancing SHE-MART (Self Help Entrepreneur Marts), aimed at improving market access for women-led enterprises through cooperative structures.
