Indu Devi: Wife of Co-op doyen passes away

Indu Devi, the wife of co-operative doyen Tapeshwar Singh passed away last week survived by two sons Ajay Singh and Ranjit Singh and a grandson Vishal Singh. Vishal is a cooperator on the Board of both Nafed and NCCF. Indu Devi was 83.

Notable cooperators including the former speaker of Lok Sabha Mira Kumar visited the Kailash Hills in Delhi where the last rites of the deceased were performed.

She was not keeping good health for a long time and was being looked after at home by the Doctor daughter in law who happens to be the wife of Ranjit Singh- her youngest son”. Of late she had developed many complications and it was a case of multi organ failure, said the Doctor to Indian Cooperative.

Tapeshwar babu as he was popularly called headed NCUI as its President and was also Chairman of several co-op federations including NAFED and NCCF. Her middle son Ajit Singh whose life was cut short by a cruel accident was also a well-known cooperator. Ranjit the youngest is a BJP leader.
