Managing Director of Indian Farmers Fertiliser Cooperative Limited, K. J. Patel, has hailed the transformation of India’s cooperative movement over the past five years, saying it has entered a new era of development, expansion and innovation under the Ministry of Cooperation.
In a message ahead of the July 6 celebration of “5 Years of Prosperity through Cooperation,” Patel said cooperatives have expanded far beyond agricultural credit to establish a strong presence in dairy, fisheries, sugar, transportation and several other sectors.
He noted that cooperatives are now delivering a wide range of rural services, including Common Service Centres (CSCs), petrol pumps, fair price shops and custom hiring centres, making villages more self-reliant, accessible and prosperous.
Patel said the achievements demonstrate the power of collective participation and service in driving economic and social empowerment across rural India.
Calling cooperation the foundation of a prosperous India, Patel urged cooperative institutions, members and citizens to actively participate in the July 6 celebrations and strengthen the nationwide movement for “Prosperity through Cooperation.” He said the event would commemorate the sector’s achievements while reinforcing the vision of building a developed India through the cooperative model.
