The Pusa Krishi Vigyan Mela 2026, organised by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) and Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI), began at the Mela Ground in the national capital.
The three-day fair, themed “Viksit Krishi – Atmanirbhar Bharat,” was inaugurated by Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and has drawn major agri-input and cooperative players from across the country.
Leading fertilizer cooperatives including Indian Farmers Fertiliser Cooperative Limited (IFFCO), Indian Potash Limited (IPL) and Krishak Bharati Cooperative Limited (KRIBHCO) are actively engaging farmers through interactive stalls and technical guidance sessions.
IFFCO’s pavilion is focusing on balanced fertilization, soil health management and sustainable nutrient practices, while also promoting nano-fertilizers and innovative agri-solutions aimed at enhancing crop productivity and reducing input costs. Company representatives are interacting directly with farmers, addressing crop-specific queries and disseminating scientific advisory material.
IPL has set up an integrated large-format stall combining information on crop nutrition, fertilizer management, animal feed, dairy and sugar-related products. The company is promoting the 6R principle, Right Source, Dose, Method, Time, Combination of Fertilizers and Water Management, to encourage efficient input use and sustainable farming.
KRIBHCO, meanwhile, is showcasing soil health initiatives, organic and natural farming solutions, and advanced agricultural technologies. S. S. Yadav, Managing Director of Krishak Bharati Cooperative Limited (KRIBHCO), visited the KRIBHCO stall at the Pusa Krishi Vigyan Mela, accompanied by C. S. Azad, Executive Director (Technical), and Dr. V. K. Tiwari, Joint General Manager (Marketing & PR).
During the visit, the senior officials reviewed the stall’s exhibits and interacted with farmers and other stakeholders. They also toured various stalls at the venue to gain insights into emerging agricultural technologies and practices.
The visit underscored KRIBHCO’s continued commitment to agricultural development, farmer outreach, and strengthening the cooperative movement through sustainable farming initiatives and active engagement at major agricultural platforms.
With a strong turnout of farmers from multiple states, the mela is serving as a vital platform connecting research institutions, cooperatives and cultivators, strengthening the push towards self-reliant and developed agriculture.
