The iconic Amul Girl, famed for her witty one-liners and cheerful polka-dotted appearance, was confirmed by GCMMF to be the original creation of Sylvester da Cunha’s ad agency, not inspired by any member of the Tharoor family.
Recent speculation had suggested that Shobha Tharoor, sister of politician Shashi Tharoor, served as the model, but Amul dismissed this, emphasizing that their beloved mascot, part of the world’s longest-running outdoor advertising campaign, was conceived solely through creative invention.
Her enduring charm continues to make her a cultural icon across generations.
