In a major cooperative-sector initiative aimed at strengthening the interests of farmers and horticulturists in Himachal Pradesh, HIMFED has signed Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with the National Cooperative Exports Limited (NCEL) and the Bharatiya Beej Sahakari Samiti Limited (BBSSL).
Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri shared the development on social media, describing it as an important step towards empowering the state’s farming community through the cooperative movement.
Under the agreements, farmers in Himachal Pradesh will gain improved access to quality seeds, while new avenues will be created for marketing the state’s agricultural and horticultural produce in larger domestic and international markets.
The initiative is expected to enhance market linkages, improve value realization for producers and contribute to higher farm incomes.
Agnihotri said the collaboration would help strengthen the cooperative ecosystem in the state and provide greater opportunities for farmers and fruit growers to benefit from organized marketing and quality agricultural inputs.
