Haldi-Doodh: Amul adopts Dadima nushka

Following age-old home-made medicinal practice, the largest dairy cooperative GCMMF has decided to produce Haldi doodh’ (turmeric milk) at the national level, informed its MD Mr R S Sodhi.

Being produced at the Kaira District Co-operative Milk Union , the production would be of two new varieties of milk. The packaging is also being simplified for easier-to-use format, said Sodhi.

Haldi-doodh is one of the common desi nuskhas used by millions of Indians should anyone in family has cold or physical fatigue. Haldi is rated high for its anti-biotic properties. Amul has jumped on to this marketing strategy keeping Indian habits in mind.

To start with more than 1.50 lakh units of each of this products would be manufactured. The capacity would be expanded based on market feed-back and consumer reactions, said Sodhi.
