Gujarat’s Kheti Bank Brand Ambassador, Ms. Nirma Thakor, brought pride to the cooperative sector by winning the Silver Medal at the Tata Mumbai Marathon 2026, held on Sunday in Mumbai. Coming from a poor farmer family, Ms. Thakor’s journey reflects extraordinary courage, discipline, and determination in overcoming economic and social challenges.
Despite limited resources, she has achieved remarkable success, winning more than 19 medals at the state and national levels. Her latest achievement stands as a symbol of how grassroots talent can flourish when supported with opportunity and belief.
Chairman of Kheti Bank, Dolar Kotecha, said that Ms. Thakor’s success is a living example of the cooperative vision “Sahkar Se Samruddhi”, where cooperation empowers individuals and strengthens rural communities. Platforms such as Khel Mahakumbh have played a vital role in nurturing talent from farming and economically weaker backgrounds.
This achievement has been realized under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home & Cooperation Minister Amit Shah, Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendrabhai Patel, and Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghvi, whose focus on sports, youth development, and women empowerment continues to inspire the nation.
