The Gujarat Urban Co-operative Banks Federation on Saturday organized two interactive sessions with the NAFCUB Task Force on Transformation of Urban Co-operative Banks (UCBs) and Credit Societies, bringing together sector leaders to deliberate on the future roadmap for cooperative banking.
The sessions were led by D. Krishna, who heads the task force, and Dr. Ashish Saha. Both experts shared insights on the evolving landscape of urban cooperative banking, highlighting key challenges, emerging opportunities, regulatory developments, and strategies for long-term transformation.
Around 25 Urban Co-operative Banks participated in the programme, with nearly 50 representatives, including chairmen, directors, and chief executive officers attending the discussions.
The sessions featured group exercises, presentations, and open deliberations, enabling participants to exchange ideas and provide recommendations on strengthening governance, improving operational efficiency, embracing technology, and enhancing member-centric services.
According to organizers, the meetings served as an important platform for collaborative dialogue and knowledge sharing, helping stakeholders contribute to the ongoing efforts aimed at building a stronger, more resilient, and future-ready urban cooperative banking sector.
