Financial express reports quoting officials in the wake of the PMC scam, the govt has decided to amend the Banking Regulation Act and the Co-operative Societies Act to strengthen the regulatory oversight of urban cooperative banks (UCBs).
Other steps under consideration are installing professional management at urban co-operative banks.
