India’s leading milk cooperative GCMMF – the owner of Amul brand has begun producing a range of flavorsome dairy products in New Jersey and selling them on the US market.
Majorly, the company aims to cater to the dairy needs of the populous Indian community and other Asian groups living in America. The US project has the cooperative major’s business invested with an international dimension.
GCMMF’s Managing Director R.S. Sodhi says the dairy plant in New Jersey owned by an NRI produces milk and milk products that have already begun selling in cities across the US.
Mr Sodhi adds this allows the company to go straight to the US market as well as spares it the trouble of having to go through the rigmarole of the export business.
