GCMMF to roll out value added dairy products

GCMMF that owns ‘Amul’ brand will roll out 40-60 new value-added dairy products in the next two years. The new products could help Amul notch up a Rs. 50,000-crore turnover by 2021, reports Business Line.

Jayen Mehta, Chief General Manager, Planning and Marketing, GCMMF, is quoted claiming the cooperative titan’s two new products will hit the market each month over the next two years. The cooperative has a pipeline of 40-60new products altogether, he said.

Milk sales account for 50 per cent of the cooperative’s turnover. Amul procures 230,00,000 litres of milk every day from farmer cooperatives across India. Nearly, 30,00,000 litres (a day) is procured from outside Gujarat.
