Freedom from plastic: Singh’s junior accepts challenge
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Responding to the call made by Prime Minister on saving cows from plastic bags the newly appointed union state agriculture minister S S Ahluwalia has vowed to make Darzjeeling a plastic bag free area. He represents the area in the House.

Tweeting his feeling Ahluwalia says “I Accept #PlasticFreedomChallenge. #Darjeeling towards #SwachhBharat”

Recently the Prime Minister has empowered the junior minister as all works related to 14 major divisions, including agriculture census, crops, drought management, international cooperation and trade, would have to be routed through the new MoS SS Ahluwalia before reaching Cabinet Minister Radha Mohan Singh’s desk.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his Townhall interaction with the nation on Saturday evening at Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium in New Delhi said, “I feel angry when people, in the name of cow protection, do business”.

Many people claim to be cow protectors just to hide their illegal activities. Cows mostly die of eating plastic bags and these cow protectors should urge people not to throw plastic on roads, this will be a big service, he said.
