Forest Day: Awasthi asks everyone to adopt a tree

On the occasion of World Forest Day, IFFCO Managing Director Dr U S Awasthi urged everyone to plant at least one tree and underline their commitment to upholding the idea of ecological balance in the world.

He wrote on his twitter wall “On #World Forest Day, let’s take a pledge that each one of us will plant a tree & adopt it. Trees gives life to us & Must for good #agriculture”.

Dr U S Awasthi also mentioned the role which is being played by its arm Indian Farm Forestry Development Cooperative (IFFDC) active in development of tree plantation enhancing socio-economic status of rural poor through sustainable Natural Resource Management by collective action.

Lauding the role of IFFDC Awasthi wrote “#IFFCO’s @IFFDC_Ltd growing forest for sustainable #agriculture. #IFFCO planted abt 13Lac #Neem tree this year in #India. #WorldForestDay”.

IFFCO MD one of the followers said “@drusawasthi ji,Hon’ble Sir! Really,Plantation of trees is imperative 4 survival& 2 compensate forest loss.Need 2check forest fires”.

March 21 marks the International Day of Forests. The objective of the day is to raise awareness about conservation of forests.
