A delegation comprising fishermen and representatives of ANIFCOFED, district federations, and fisheries cooperative societies visited the National Institute of Fisheries Post Harvest Technology and Training in Kochi, Kerala, along with officials from the Department of Fisheries, Andaman & Nicobar Administration.
The visit was organised to expose participants to advanced fisheries post-harvest technologies, modern fish processing methods, value addition practices, and cold-chain management systems.
Officials and experts at the institute interacted with the visiting team and shared insights on sustainable fisheries development, quality control, and market-oriented seafood processing techniques.
The programme is expected to help cooperative societies and fishermen from the Andaman & Nicobar Islands strengthen their operational capabilities and improve income opportunities through better handling and marketing of fish products.
