The Fire Station Champawat on Monday conducted a fire safety audit of banks in the Champawat area, including Pithoragarh District Cooperative Bank and Kurmanchal Nagar Sahakari Bank, as part of efforts to strengthen fire preparedness and safety measures at financial institutions.
The inspection focused on assessing the fire safety arrangements at the bank premises and identifying areas requiring improvement to ensure the safety of employees, members, customers and visitors.
During the audit, fire officials examined the availability and condition of firefighting equipment, emergency preparedness and other safety arrangements at the cooperative banks.
The exercise assumes importance for cooperative banking institutions, which serve a large number of members and customers and handle important financial records, cash and other critical infrastructure.
