In a significant milestone for the cooperative sector, Kerala based ESAF Swasraya Multi State Agro Cooperative Society Ltd. has been granted Full Membership with Voting Rights in the International Cooperative Alliance (ICA), strengthening its presence in the global cooperative movement.
The development follows the approval of ESAF Cooperative’s request to upgrade its status from Associate Member to Full Member after completing two years as a temporary Associate Member. In a letter, the ICA Board of Directors confirmed that the change in membership status had been approved with immediate effect.
The achievement gives ESAF Cooperative a stronger voice in ICA’s decision-making processes and enables it to participate more actively in shaping the future of the international cooperative movement.
Expressing his delight, George Thomas, CEO of ESAF Cooperative, described the recognition as a proud moment for the institution and a major step forward in its cooperative journey. He congratulated all stakeholders who contributed to achieving the milestone.
