EoW hints at politicization of MSCB case

Indian Express reports EOW of Mumbai police sees allegations identifying political high ups in the protest petitions filed against the closure report in the Maharashtra State Cooperative Bank (MSCB) scam as “politically motivated”.

Earlier the EOW had filed a report before the special court in Mumbai, saying no criminal offence was made in the case.

It bears recall that 70 persons, including Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar and other political leaders, were involved in the scam.

Surinder Arora had filed a petition against the EOW’s closure report arguing the police had bucked under the coalition govt’s political pressure.
