The Economic Offences Unit (EOU) on Friday carried out simultaneous raids at six locations in Patna and Gopalganj as part of its intensified drive against corruption in Bihar. The searches are linked to Bhavesh Kumar Singh, Development Officer of the Pataliputra Central Cooperative Bank, who is accused of possessing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.
According to officials, Singh allegedly amassed assets around 60.68 per cent higher than his declared income. A DSP-rank officer is leading the operation, which involves detailed scrutiny of income records, property documents, bank accounts and suspected financial transactions.
ADG EOU Nayyar Hasnain Khan said preliminary investigations revealed a significant mismatch between Singh’s income and assets, leading to the coordinated raids to gather further evidence.
