The elections to the Board of Directors of Ahilyanagar District Central Cooperative Bank (DCCB) in Maharashtra have witnessed a significant show of political coordination, with 11 candidates elected unopposed out of the bank’s total 21 seats.
The understanding between groups associated with Guardian Minister Radhakrishna Vikhe-Patil and senior Congress leader Balasaheb Thorat has emerged as a key feature of the election. A similar consensus was reached in Jamkhed between the Vikhe-Patil and Assembly Speaker Prof. Ram Shinde factions.
Those elected unopposed include Ranjitsinh Deshmukh (Sangamner), Shankarrao Gadakh (Nevasa), Dr Sujay Vikhe-Patil (Rahata), Karan Sasane (Shrirampur), MLA Monika Rajale (Pathardi), Rajshree Ghule-Patil (Shevgaon), Dattatray Pansare (Shrigonda), Vivek Kolhe (Kopargaon), Akshay Kardile (Ahilyanagar Taluka), Sachin Jagtap (Non-Agricultural Constituency) and Sachin Ghumare (Jamkhed).
The bank plays a crucial role in financing farmers and supporting cooperative institutions across the district. With 10 seats still remaining, attention has now shifted to the contest for the remaining positions.
