The elections to the Board of Directors of the Nagpur-based Dharampeth Mahila Multi-State Cooperative Society have been held unopposed, with all 15 director seats filled without contest.
As per the election process, the official declaration of results is expected in mid-January, following approval from the Cooperative Election Authority. However, as of the last date for publication of the list of valid nominations, the number of candidates exactly matched the number of available seats, resulting in an unopposed election.
The elected directors are, Anagha Muley, Anagha Vaidya, Aruna Purohit, Chhaya Shukla, Neelam Bowade, Nilima Bawane, Dr Pritee Umathe, Sadhna Rakshamwar, Shilpa Taori, Shraddha Purohit, Sarika Pendse, Smita Golar, Vaishali Zade, Vrunda Shende, and Smita Maind.
The Dharampeth Mahila Multi-State Cooperative Society, a prominent women-led cooperative institution based in Nagpur, is also one of the leading credit cooperative societies in Maharashtra, with a business turnover exceeding Rs 2,000 crore. The unopposed election reflects broad consensus among its members.
