Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami virtually participated in the inaugural session of the Shri Laxmanrao Inamdar Second Cooperative Leadership Training Class, organised by Sahakar Bharati Uttarakhand.
Paying tribute to Shri Laxman Rao Inamdar, founder of Sahakar Bharati, on his birth anniversary, Dhami highlighted several new initiatives launched from Pantnagar, including the unveiling of ‘Sahakar Granth’ and the ‘Devbhoomi Sarathi State Cooperative Union’.
The Chief Minister also highlighted the introduction of new curricula for the cooperative sector and initiatives to use social media platforms to connect youth with the cooperative movement. He commended the Department of Cooperation, Pantnagar University and Sahakar Bharati for these efforts.
Dhami said the government’s objective is to take Uttarakhand from “cooperation to prosperity”, noting that the cooperative model can address several challenges faced by the hill state and help curb migration.
He also stressed the role of cooperatives in strengthening mountain agriculture, promoting local products and connecting them with markets, thereby contributing to the rural economy.
