Dehradun District Co-op Bank opens branch

Dehradun District Cooperative Bank chairman Dr. K.S.Rana recently inaugurated the bank’s 23rd branch in Raiwala. Vice-President Diwan Singh Chauhan was also present on the occasion.

Talking to this correspondent the chairman said “We have opened our 23rd branch in Raiwala in Dehradun and we are expected to achieve a business mix of about Rs. 1 crore in the first month”.

“Earlier we had opened our 22nd branch in Jolly Grant and opened 100 bank accounts of farmers on the same day. We are also planning to open two more branches in this financial year. We have demanded additional staff from the government”, he added.

He said under the Deen Dayal Upadhyay Krishi Kalyan Yojana we are giving a loan of 1 lakh at 2 percent rate of interest to farmers for buying cattle, agricultural inputs and other farming necessaries, Rana said.

Readers would recall that earlier the bank had opened a women branch in Banjarawala in Dehradun.

The bank has 23 branches and earned a net profit of Rs 9 crore.
