FE reports Amul M.D. R.S.Sodhi said the dairy sector would generate 1.2 crore jobs over the next 10 years despite a huge problem of unemployment weighing down the country.
According to Sodhi, India produces 21 per cent of the milk in the world and India’s dairy sector was growing at 5 per cent, compared to the 1.8 per cent growth in the global milk market.
The MD added that the dairy sector in India would grow from $30 billion to $110 bn over the next decade. Sodhi was taking part in an online dialogue held by All India Management Association (AIMA).
