India’s cooperative sector is witnessing rapid digital transformation as National Cooperative Training Council and Common Services Centres (CSC) roll out a joint digital training campaign for Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS). The initiative aims to prepare grassroots cooperatives for the demands of the digital era.
So far, 648 training programmes have been conducted across the country, training 30,210 participants. The campaign focuses on enabling PACS to deliver more than 300 digital services efficiently, strengthening their role in financial inclusion and rural service delivery.
Officials said the initiative is aligned with the broader vision of Digital India and cooperative-led growth. By building digital capacity at the grassroots level, the programme is helping PACS become more transparent, technology-driven and citizen-centric institutions, accelerating progress in the cooperative ecosystem.
