The Office of the Central Registrar of Cooperative Societies (CRCS) has convened a crucial meeting on August 6, 2026, to review the implementation of the Multi-State Cooperative Societies (Amendment) Act, 2023 and the Multi-State Cooperative Societies (Amendment) Rules, 2023.

The meeting, to be chaired by the Central Registrar, will be held from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the World Trade Centre, Nauroji Nagar, New Delhi. It aims to deliberate on issues arising from the implementation of the amended legal framework and seek detailed suggestions from stakeholders for its effective execution.

The CRCS has invited all 20 National Cooperative Societies, along with the Cooperative Election Authority (CEA) and the Cooperative Ombudsman, to participate in the discussions.

The stakeholder consultation is expected to provide valuable feedback on the practical implementation of the amended Act and Rules, which introduced significant reforms in the governance and functioning of multi-state cooperative societies.

The Ministry of Cooperation is expected to use the inputs received during the meeting to address implementation challenges and strengthen the regulatory framework governing the country’s multi-state cooperative sector.
