The Government of India on Monday issued an order appointing Rabindra Kumar Agarwal, IAS (KL:1997), Additional Secretary, Ministry of Cooperation and Central Registrar of Cooperative Societies (CRCS), as the Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of the Food Corporation of India (FCI).
He has been appointed in the rank and pay of Additional Secretary to the Government of India, succeeding Ashutosh Agnihotri, IAS (AM:1999), who has been appointed as Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change.
Agarwal is currently serving as the Central Registrar of Cooperative Societies (CRCS) under the Union Ministry of Cooperation. His appointment as CMD, FCI has been made without affecting his current rank and pay, as per the order.
Following his new appointment, it is expected that a new Central Registrar of Cooperative Societies will take charge in due course.
