Could not attend but Shah promises to meet us soon: Joshi

The cooperators connected with credit cooperatives attended the inaugural function of the national cooperative conference on credit co-ops on Saturday in huge numbers but were a little disappointed that Union Cooperation Minister Amit Shah did not attend the event.

“We were expecting the participation of the Union Cooperation Minister in the event but due to his pressing engagements he could not make it to the event. His attendance could have made a difference”, said a cooperator from Maharashtra requesting anonymity.

Though, from the dais, Sahakar Bharati National General Secretary Uday Joshi informed the participants, “I had talked to Union Cooperation Minister on the phone, who said that this time he couldn’t make it to the show but will positively sit with the representatives of credit co-ops in the near future”.

The delegates from Kashmir to Kanyakumari were present with full enthusiasm. More than 3000 delegates attended the event representing 1200 credit co-ops from different states.

The representatives from some of the largest credit co-ops including Jijaba Pawar from Dnyandeep Credit Cooperative, Gorakh T. Chavan from Shivkrupa Patpedhi and others were present.

The event was attended by the Union Agriculture Minister NarendraSingh Tomar as the chief guest. Union Minister of State for Cooperation BL Verma, BJP leader Annasaheb Shankar Jolle and other dignitaries participated in the conference.
